Anti-Gun Governor Brown

Governor Jerry Brown can no longer brag about a good record on guns and the Second Amendment.  He had every opportunity to maintain a clean record but his true colors came blazing through. As a candidate for Governor, he committed to various organizations that he would be "good on guns". He also went on various sportsmen's radio programs to reassure gun owners, hunters and shooters that he would support gun rights. That was then...

Last night, the man behind the curtain was exposed. Under the cover of night, just before the clock struck midnight,  Governor Brown wasted a clean record and joined the ranks of his fellow anti-gun governors including Davis and Schwarzenegger. He chose to sign into law AB 144 - Open Carry Ban, AB 809 - Rifle and Shotgun Registration, and SB 819 - Converts Dealer Record of Sales from fee to a tax (slush fund).

He did veto SB 427 the ammunition registration scheme but that is very little consolation. This is like getting a kiss on the cheek from the Gov while shanking us in the stomach with an ice pick.

We all wanted to give the Governor the benefit if the doubt and give him some good vibes in hopes that he would be true to his word. But one thing has been reinforced about liberal politicians...hope springs infernal!

Now we know exactly what then Attorney General Jerry Brown meant when he personally penned an amicus brief to the US Supreme Court asking it to grant certiorari to the McDonald v Chicago case which would incorporate the Second Amendment against state and local government intrusion. In his brief, Governor Brown discussed how the reasonable laws of California were not a violation of the Second Amendment. Obviously, he doesn't believe that the reasonable laws are sufficient and more reasonable laws should be implemented.

Here is the bottom line. Governor Jerry Brown's action have placed him firmly in the anti-gun camp and anybody who says anything different must be basking under the light of a midnight moonbeam.

This is why it is so important for gun owners in the state of California to join GunOwnersCA. THEY are the ones who speak for ALL of us. THEY are in the fight every day for our rights. I encourage and urge anyone who is reading this that is not a member to join in the fight. Join GOCA membership, buy the 52 week gun raffle, come to the dinners, Participate DAMN IT!!! or don't cry when the leftist have stripped you of all your 2nd Amendment rights

The idea of moving where self defense is considered noble ,where illegal mean's illegal is appealing to us .

May not be a bad idea to relocate in a republican state .
IM certain they can use the help.
Sorry we have ZERO chance in ca.

The irony is liberalism traditionally meant small government and big guns for the public to force equality. Look what MTV did. Look what they did.

Ram: Recalls and referendums are great ideas if you have the money. The cost of one recall or referendum petition drive and election is more than all of the dollars raised and spent by the entire pro-gun community in California in the past 5 years…combined. It takes a whole lot less money to affect Senate and Assembly races and you can still achieve the same goal. Do not give up! Please spread the word and help recruit new supporters. We will be fighting in the courts and at the ballot box. Sam

Troy: We weren’t fooled. We never endorsed Jerry Brown in any way. Maybe you might be mistaking GOC & GOA for others who did and that’s easy enough for you to find out. We had no allusions that Jerry Brown was anything but a leftist liberal from the get go. We told everybody who endorsed him that they would be GREATLY disappointed no matter what he promised. He blew his one chance to be pro-gun when he signed these bills. Prior to this Sunday he had a clean record on guns. No more. Thank’s for joining us in the fight this year but we’ve been doing this for 36 years. What are WE going to do? First, there are multiple lawsuits already in place that we will be joining to fight these bills. Second, and most importantly, we are preparing for the upcoming elections to elect more pro-gun defenders. No what are YOU going to do to help? We need more pro-gun supporters and we need you to go sign up some new members to follow us into the fight. Sam Paredes-ExDir & Tim Macy-Vice Ch GOC

I am not at all surprised by this. I am old enough to have been around the last time Brown was Gov. He spent more time humping Linda Ronstadt and going to Africa on our dime then he did doing states business (which is a good thing). I ask? Is there any way to start a recall before this lib loon kills every other constitutional right we have? Or do we just sit back again and allow the leftist to keep him in office? Also I read that many top cops supported this, I find that hard to believe? Why do sherrifs and law enforcement officals fear legal gun owners more then gang members, and felons, who we all know always obide by gun laws? I only own one pistol, I am in the National Guard and considering what happened in NV, I have thought about a CCW. But this clown and others seem to think that is not my right? I don't openly carry because I know how it freaks out lib idiots, and I don't need some rookie cowboy cop killing me because he over reacted to a legal citizen. How can we fight this?
