Historic gun battle waged before high court

Washington, D.C. -- An historic gun battle is being waged before the U.S. Supreme Court Tuesday. The case is on the constitutionality of a law in Chicago, restricting handgun ownership in private homes.
On one side -- those who say their second amendment right to keep and bear arms have been violated. On the other -- parents and teachers who swear their city's handgun ban is saving lives.
What makes it more complicated, though, is the legal arguments being put forth today are more about a "federal versus state's rights" debate than about safety and guns, according to McGeorge School Law Professor Leslie Gielow-Jacobs.
