Business Spotlight: Just Guns Store

GOC's Business Spotlight

Just-Guns-Logosmall

Just Guns is a family-owned store in Sacramento that is much more than a gun store.  Accompanied by exceptional customer service, product selection, and overall firearm knowledge, Just Guns serves as a conduit for Second Amendment and legislative updates.  Owner, Josh Deaser, uses his mobile app, radio advertisements, and the walls of his store, to keep his customers and gun rights supporters informed as to what is happening at the State Capitol.

Just Guns, has gone to extraordinary lengths to raise greater awareness regarding the dangers we are in of losing our Second Amendment rights.  From participating on multiple dinner committees to holding in-store promotions generating new memberships for GOC, Just Guns has become a key supporter and friend.  We are grateful for their enthusiasm for the Second Amendment and look forward to continuing the fight with them in the years to come.

If you live in the Sacramento area, we highly recommend you stop by Just Guns for your next gun purchase!  Help support the businesses that are fervently fighting for your Second Amendment rights!

An American Classic:

American Heritage Barber Shop

Sponsors

I’m not sure what it is about a classic barber shop that brings one back to a simpler time, but they just seem to evoke an old fashioned friendliness that our world too often forgets.  And I’m not even a man.

“The 1880′s to the 1940′s were the golden age for barbershops. During this time, men socialized in all male hangouts, and barbershops rivaled saloons in popularity. Visiting the barbershop was a weekly, and sometimes daily habit. Men would stop in not only for a haircut and a shave, but also to fraternize with friends and chew the fat.” – The Art of Manliness

On top of the already classic nature of barber shops, it’s even better when you find one that exhibits American pride in everything from the name of their shop, to the anniversary of its opening.  Having opened for business on July 4th, 2011, American Heritage Barber Shop is owned by old friends and colleagues, Anthony Natale and Gabe Gruenthal.

When asked how they started getting involved with Gun Owners of California, they attributed their introduction to our good ol’ fashioned fundraising dinners.  They first started attending our annual Oroville Dinner when invited by a friend and loyal Gun Owner.  A few years after attending, they decided it was time to bring a dinner to their own town.  Along with a few other local Gun Owners, American Heritage Barber Shop helped organizing the Yuba Sutter Fundraising Banquet in Yuba City, and after only two years, helped turn it into one of our most successful events to date.

It is with the help of loyal Gun Owners like Gabe and Anthony that we are able to raise awareness and funds to continue fighting for the Second Amendment.  If you are from the Yuba Sutter area or are passing through town and in need of a cut, stop by American Heritage Barber Shop and support the businesses that support your rights!

Perfect Storm

Gun Owners Face Perfect Storm in 2012

Gun owners in California face the "Perfect Storm" of events in 2012. Not only are we suffering a very bad economy with donations being down, but it is combined with an anti-gunner controlled State Legislature and our new anti-gun governor Jerry Brown.

Anti-Gun Gov

Anti-Gun Governor Brown

Governor Jerry Brown can no longer brag about a good record on guns and the Second Amendment.  He had every opportunity to maintain a clean record but his true colors came blazing through. As a candidate for Governor, he committed to various organizations that he would be "good on guns". He also went on various sportsmen's radio programs to reassure gun owners, hunters and shooters that he would support gun rights. That was then...

Business Focus...

OCTOBER BUSINESS OF THE MONTH:

RCBS

Founded in the early 1940’s in the back room of his father’s laundry shop in Oroville, California, Fred T. Huntington was on to something big.  It was after only a few years that he had to move his business into a larger building, in order to accommodate the demand for his growing business.  The company was producing dies that were designed to shoot varmint called Rock Chucks, leading to the name Rock Chuck Bullet Swage (RCBS).  Although the business no longer manufactures the original dies, they are the leading manufacturer of ammunition reloading equipment for rifles and pistols.
