POLICE CHIEFS JOIN GROWING LAW ENFORCEMENT LIST TO OPPOSE PROP. 63

Law enforcement continues to step up to the pro-gun plate in opposing Gavin Newsom’s bully attacks on the law abiding.

The California Police Chiefs Association, notably one of the more respected and significant groups in the state has issued a tepolice-chiefsrse letter on the November ballot initiative stating “Proposition 63 complicates current law with one that is costlier and seriously flawed.”

Acknowledging Gavin Newsom’s attack on the civil liberties of all Californians, the Police Chiefs goes on to say “Unfortunately, Proposition 63 fails to meet the appropriate balance between public safety and individual gun rights.”

The Police Chiefs join the California Correctional Peace Officers Association, the Association of Deputy District Attorneys, the California Reserve Peace Officers Association, California State Sheriffs’ Association, California Fish & Game Wardens’ Association, Law Enforcement Action Network, and the Western States Sheriffs’ Association in opposition to Proposition 63.

In spite of the emotional pot that Newsom loves to stir – and even though that mainstay of Constitutional ignorance (LA Times) has jumped on the Prop. 63 band-wagon, GOC and our partners at the Coalition for Civil Liberties continue to press our honest message of truth to all Californians.  We know foolish legislation that ignores the obvious won’t make us any more secure, nor will some duplicative and opportunistic initiative on November’s ballot.

What will make us more secure is the 2nd Amendment, which was adopted by our Founding Fathers to guarantee the protection of ourselves, our homes and families against the dangers of a broken world.
