State Senator Sharon Runner Passes Away

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Senator Sharon Runner.  We have been deeply appreciative of her steadfast support of the Second Amendment.  She will surely be missed by her many friends and family.

Our prayers are with her family, to whom she was very devoted.

State Senator Sharon Runner died Thursday morning. She was 62.

George Runner, her husband and member of the state Board of Equalization, confirmed the death this morning.

“We are heartbroken to share that Sharon passed away today at the age of 62 following respiratory complications,” according to a statement from the family. “She died peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends.

“Through her life Sharon held tight to her favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6, trusting in the Lord through all obstacles. We take comfort in the fact that the Lord truly directed her path, and she is now home in the arms of her Savior.”

Runner represented portions of the Santa Clarita Valley through her 21st District Seat in the state Senate.

Runner had been in failing health recently, after a double lung transplant. There was no word on whether her previous medical condition was the cause of death, as of this story’s publication.

The family asks for prayers and privacy during this time. Donations may be made in Sharon’s memory toGrace Resources at graceresources.org. Service details are pending.

Sharon is survived by her husband George; son Micah and daughter-in-law Sandy; daughter Rebekah and son-in-law James; and grandchildren Raider, Hailey, James and Paxton.
