It was like the 4th of July and New Years all in one day when we heard the news that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals had lifted the stay that had been placed on Judge Carney’s ruling that declared SB 2 as repugnant AND unconstitutional. MAKE NO MISTAKE: THIS IS HUGE! Without tossing out a bunch of legal mumbo-jumbo, this means that the restrictions on where licensed CCW holders can legally carry has been lifted. Another hearing by the 9th will occur sometime in April, but until that time, it’s as if SB 2 had never seen the light of day. Governor Newsom’s hair gel promptly melted upon hearing this news and Senator Portantino likely blew a gasket of epic proportions.
